Las Vegas Station Casinos offer a new app to fund gambling

Station Casinos now offers guests the option of going cashless when gambling at one of its six flagship casinos. The Las Vegas casino operator will use IGT’s award-winning Resort Wallet and IGTPay cashless gaming modules.

These are both a part of the IGT Advantage casino management system. Together players can use the cashless gaming option as well as earn Boarding Pass players club points without using a physical card.

The new STN Cash app can be used at the following Station Casinos properties:

  • Red Rock Casino
  • Palace Station
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Boulder Station
  • Sunset Station
  • Santa Fe Station

The STN Cash app will soon be available for players to use at Barley’s Casino & Brewery and Wildfire Casinos throughout Las Vegas.

Station Casinos joins Boyd Gaming properties and Resorts World as Las Vegas casinos offering cashless gaming. Using cash is still an option at all of the casinos offering this service to guests.

Station Casinos and IGT partner again

The Station Casinos partnership with IGT isn’t new. Station Casinos was one of the first Las Vegas casino operators to offer Cardless Connect from IGT.

This service allowed players to earn players club points at machine games without using a physical card. STN Cash will continue this partnership. Tom Mikulich, Station Casinos, Senior Vice President of Innovation said:

“Station Casinos continues to be the leader in guest experience providing our guests leading-edge technologies such as IGT’s Resort Wallet and IGTPay that drive slot play, distinguish our casinos and reward our loyal Boarding Pass members.”

Guests at Station Casinos can now go both cardless for rewards and cashless for money. Resort Wallet and IGTPay are modules of the IGT Advantage casino management system.

Players using the STN Cash app will not require a physical Boarding Pass card during slot play. This new app will allow players to “tap in” with their smartphone to earn and use Boarding Pass Rewards points.

Setting up STN Cash

Using STN Cash is a fairly simple process. However, it will take a few minutes and involve a visit to a Station Casinos’ property in order to use the service at:

  • Video poker
  • Keno
  • Slot machine
  • Electronic table game (ETG)

The STN Cash app gives players a quick, convenient, and, importantly, secure method for funding a machine game to play, straight from a mobile phone.

The first step to getting started is to download the STN Cash app from the Apple App or Google Play store. Once the app is downloaded players should visit the casino cashier at a Station Casinos’ property to verify their identity and make an initial deposit.

This is similar to setting up a Nevada sports betting app account. This is the only time a visit to the cashier is required.

After the STN Cash app is initiated, players can link their Boarding Pass account and PIN. The final step is to enter an email address and create a password.

A nice feature of this app is that a player can set up a facial ID instead of having to remember the password.

Once everything is set up, users can select a funding option. In addition to funding the app at the cashier inside a Station Casinos property, users can use ACH Bank Transfer or Play+ to add money to an account remotely.

Using STN Cash

Using STN Cash is simple for those familiar with paying for goods and services using a mobile app.

A user should open STN Cash and then place their phone against the red card reader at the video poker or slot machine. The screen on the phone should be facing the user. The user will have to hit the connect button at the bottom right of the home screen.

When the app and machine are connected, the button in the app will turn green. Once connected, the player should select “Fund Game” and enter the amount of money from the account they want to use.

Players do not have to use all the money in their STN App at once. Even with the cashless convenience, players should gamble within their normal budget.

After the player enters their PIN, the funds will appear on the screen. Now, it’s time to play.

This may sound like a lot but it really only takes a few seconds from sitting down at the machine to use STN Cash.

When a player is done gambling at a machine they can take winnings in the form of a TITO to cash. Players can also redeposit the funds into the app to use in the future.

Earning Boarding Pass points

Linking Boarding Pass to an STN cash reduces the need for cash and a Station Casinos rewards card when playing machine games.

Players can earn reward points to use at the following venues inside any Station Casinos property:

  • Restaurants
  • Bars & Lounges
  • Movie Theaters
  • Bowling Centers
  • Spas & Salons
  • Hotel Rooms
  • Showrooms

The company also has a Station Casinos credit card to earn Boarding Pass points inside or outside of one of its properties. Players will earn Boarding Pass points playing machine games at the following rates:

  • Slot Machines: One (1) base point for every $1 of coin-in
  • Keno Machines: One (1) base point for every $1 of coin-in
  • Video Poker: One (1) base point for every $2 of coin-in

Station Casinos doesn’t offer Boarding Pass points on ETGs or video blackjack, even though players can use STN Cash with the games.

Players can also earn Boarding Pass points playing table games, betting on sports and horses, poker, live keno and bingo.
