[toc]Earning customer loyalty rewards at Station Casinos properties are about to get much more convenient. The Nevada casino company is in the process of launching Cardless Connect, a new technology from IGT.
What is Cardless Connect?
The Cardless Connect program aims to render your physical player rewards card unnecessary. Instead of keeping your Station Boarding Pass card with you at all times, your phone can track your play. If you’re forgetful or do not want to carry a wallet full of cards, this could be hugely beneficial.
Therefore it makes sense a brand reliant on local customers with loyalty cards at nearly a dozen casino companies would be the first to test the product. Station Casinos owns 19 different gaming properties in the Las Vegas area.
The way Cardless Connect works is through the Stations mobile app. The app is available for download in both the App Store for iPhone and the Google Play Store for Android. If a player enters their Boarding Pass information, it takes only a few steps to log on and officially go cardless.

Currently Barley’s Casino and Brewing Company in Henderson is the only property with Cardless Connect. Once the pilot program is over, the hope is to expand across all properties.
How to sign up for Cardless Connect
The process for enabling Cardless Connect is a little more complicated than turning on and turning off.
Per the Station Casinos blog, there are a few requirements necessary.
- A smartphone with the latest version of the STN app
- Bluetooth capabilities enabled
- A Boarding Pass account
- Connection to the Station Casinos Guest WiFi of the property you are on
Once you tick all those boxes, there are still a few more steps before you are good to go.
First, you need to open the app and select what casino you are playing at this session. Enter your username and password to sign in, then a blue icon will appear along with the word “Connecting”.
After that icon pops up, hold your phone screen to the area of the machine you are playing on with an icon of a Boarding Pass card. Once the two devices sync up, your phone will display a green “Connected” icon. Do not forget to disconnect from the machine when you are done playing.
The test run at Barley’s should help iron out the kinks. If this takes off and other properties follow suit, it would make local wallets a lot less thinner, not because of a lack of cash, but because they can finally cut down on the endless number of member cards for every loyalty program.
