New Nevada online poker room could come soon

There could soon be more money available for Nevada online poker players.

It all begins with WSOP.com launching this week for players in the state of Michigan.

The player pool in Michigan should be significant, and according to PlayMichigan, the state is planning on joining the large-pool Multi-State Internet Gaming Compact with Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware.

“The Michigan Gaming Control Board has said the wait is for the other states (Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey) to accept Michigan in.”

The holdup is that all participating states must approve any new states entering the gaming compact.

Current And Near Future Online Poker Pool Participants

Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware have been sharing a player pool since 2018. The addition of Michigan to the gaming compact will bring more people to online poker rooms in Nevada. This could be just the beginning of Nevada’s online poker growth.

WSOP is already active online in Pennsylvania. According to PlayPennsylvania, the Keystone State is also making plans to join the multi-state compact with Nevada and the other states.

The addition of poker players from Michigan and Pennsylvania to the online poker player pool could be a boon for Nevada residents. Michigan has nearly 10 million residents, while Pennsylvania has a population greater than 12 million.

A small percentage of residents playing online poker from these two states will increase the liquidity in the online poker pool. The additional players will make more money available for Nevada online poker players.

Could There Be A New Online Poker Room Coming To Nevada?

There could be another way for Nevada online poker to see more players, games and money. Right now, Nevada has only one active online poker room with WSOP.com. This could change in the near future.

There’s speculation that Nevada BetMGM could be gearing up to launch online poker in Nevada. A unconfirmed report said there was a job position available for someone with poker marketing experience at BetMGM in Nevada.

A check, however, showed that while there are multiple jobs available at BetMGM in Nevada, there’s not one specifically for online poker in Nevada at this time.

PlayNevada reached out to BetMGM for more information and hasn’t heard back.
