Visitors to Palms Casino Resort now have an excuse to yell, “BUFFALOOOOOOOOOOO!”
The casino just west of the Vegas Strip is opening a new Buffalo Zone on July 13. The partnership with Palms is just the latest in a long string of themed slot machine areas for manufacturer Aristocrat Gaming in Las Vegas.
The company has previously had special slot machine areas inside other Las Vegas casinos Rampart and Suncoast. Silverton was home to an Aristocrat Lightning Link Lounge for a while.
Palms Buffalo Zone will house 10 different versions of the popular games
Nevada online casinos are still prohibited. The only way to play Buffalo slot machines is at a retail establishment in the state, including at casinos.
Palms is dedicating space between its sportsbook and Mabel’s BBQ for its first dedicated slot machine area. The Buffalo Zone at Palms will feature nearly 50 Buffalo-themed slot machines.
These will all be different versions of the popular slot machine theme. Altogether, Palms will offer 10 different versions of the Buffalo slot machine.
Some versions of Buffalo available at Palms include:
- Buffalo Chief
- Buffalo Ascension
- Buffalo Gold
- Buffalo Link
- Buffalo Revolution
- Buffalo Grand Deluxe
These slot machines will complement the many other Buffalo-themed slot machines throughout the casino floor at Palms, said Scott McDermott, director of slot operations at Palms.
“There’s no question that our players love Buffalo games by Aristocrat Gaming. We are so thrilled to introduce this dedicated space to our guests, providing them with an enhanced casino experience and the excitement of hearing the well-recognized ‘Buffaloooooo’ game chant.”
Palms offering promotions with opening of Buffalo Zone
Palms is running a couple of promotions for the opening of the Buffalo Zone. There will be a free slot play promotion from 4 to 8 p.m. July 13 through July 15.
Current and new members of Palms’ rewards program, Club Serrano, can receive $25 in free slot play each day during the promotion to be used only in the new Buffalo Zone.
Palms will also hand out buffalo plushies randomly to guests who are playing the Buffalo machines in the new slot area.
Each of the plushies will have free slot play ranging from $25 to $1,000. Guests can simply take their winning buffalo plushie to the Club Serrano desk. The staff will add the free slot play directly onto their Club Serrano rewards card to use in the Buffalo Zone.
Additionally, in celebration of the opening of the Buffalo Zone, all bars at Palms will offer a specially priced Old Fashioned made with Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Whiskey.
Palms will have bottles of this exclusive barrel of Buffalo Trace whiskey available in retail shops for a limited time. Each bottle will have a tag of the Old Fashioned recipe Palms uses at its bars. There will also be a QR code that links guests to a video tutorial on how to prepare an Old Fashioned by one of the bartenders from Palms’ delicious steakhouse, Scotch 80 Prime.
Dedicated slot machine areas popular in Vegas and beyond
Buffalo Zone at Palms is a fun idea for slot machine players in Las Vegas. However, this isn’t new or unique to just Palms.
Aristocrat has been partnering with Las Vegas casinos for years to promote certain slot machine brands.
In 2018, the company opened the first-ever Lightning Link Lounge at the Silverton. The dedicated space had 36 Lightning Link slot machines. The lounge was previously used for slot machine tournaments.
Aristocrat has partnered with various Las Vegas casinos to promote Buffalo slot machines as well. Suncoast Casino in Summerlin also had a space dedicated to Buffalo slot machines.
More recently, Aristocrat partnered with Rampart Casino (also in Summerlin) for Buffalo Bar. This space offered a variety of traditional Buffalo slot machines along with its Winner’s World Multi-Game bar-top machines.
Rampart no longer has the Buffalo Bar. The space is now dedicated to a variety of slot machines.
The Winner’s World Multi-Game bar-top machines can be found in casinos and taverns throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
This isn’t a promotion created specifically for Las Vegas. Last year, Aristocrat partnered with Beau Rivage Casino in Mississippi for a Buffalo Zone.
