Caesars announced the 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) will be held from May 30 through July 18, 2023. For the second year, WSOP Nevada will take place on the Vegas Strip.
World Series of Poker senior vice president and executive director Ty Stewart said in the press release:
“The historic debut of the WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip delivered in a big way, and we’re excited to announce our summer 2023 dates in time for the holidays. Poker players and fans can now officially mark their calendars and maybe even book their loved ones or themselves a trip to the WSOP as a holiday gift. We’re glad to be back at Paris Las Vegas and the future Horseshoe Las Vegas for another exciting chapter in the tournament’s history as these two resorts raised the bar in hosting last year’s event.”
Events will be split between Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. Horseshoe is the new name for Bally’s Las Vegas. Renovations and a rebrand of the property will be complete before the end of the year.
The casino has a new design aesthetic as well as a new WSOP poker room at Horseshoe.
WSOP Caesars main event begins July 3
The official schedule for the 54th annual Caesars WSOP will be released next year. Once again, the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, known as “the main event,” will return.
There will be four starting flights for the WSOP Main Event on July 3, 4, 5 and 6.
This year, 8,662 players participated in the main event. Espen Jorstad won the main event and took home the first-place prize of $10 million, along with the coveted WSOP bracelet. Adrian Attenborough lost head-to-head against Jorstad and took home $6 million for finishing second.
The 2022 WSOP tournament had 197,626 entrants and a record-breaking $347.9 million prize pool.
WSOP Vegas schedule highlights
Many favorite events will return to WSOP next year. As always, there will be some new poker tournaments.
The flagship opening event, being billed as Mystery Millions, is one of the newer and more popular events at WSOP.
This is a $1,000 buy-in, no-limit hold ’em tournament that will feature mystery bounties from $10,000 to $1 million for each knockout. The event will have a $1 million guaranteed first prize through the traditional prize pool.
Last summer’s first mystery bounty event was a stunning success, with 14,112 entries and a $1,000,000 bounty won by professional poker player Matt Glantz.
Here are a dozen 2023 WSOP events on the calendar for anyone planning to visit Las Vegas next summer.

- June 16: Monster Stack, $1,500 buy-in

- June 23: Millionaire Maker, $1,500 buy-in
- June 29: Ladies Championship, $1,000 buy-in
- June 30: Colossus, $400 buy-in
- July 2: Mini Main Event, $1,000 buy-in
- July 3: The Main Event, $10,000 buy-in
- July 7: Lucky 7s, $777 buy-in
- July 11: Ultra Stack, $600 buy-in
- July 14: The Closer, $1,500 buy-in
