The World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Online 2022 will take place in the US from Sept. 10-Oct. 18. This will be the third year for the online poker tournament series.
The online event follows the first WSOP tournament to take place on the Vegas Strip. The event took place at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
The 8,662 players in the WSOP Main Event were the second most ever. Norway’s Espen Jorstad won the Main Event. He took home $10 million and a fancy bracelet for his efforts.
Altogether there were 197,626 entrants in the WSOP in Las Vegas this year. Jorstad and the rest of the players won a total of $347.9 million in prize money.
“No one wanted to see this year’s WSOP come to an end,” said Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker, Ty Stewart. He continued saying:
“However, in many ways, the return of WSOP Online is even more exciting. Together with GGPoker, we have a clear vision to make this festival annually the biggest deal in online poker so that the WSOP offers players the marquee event in both live and online poker each year.”
Bracelet winners from WSOP Online 2022 will each earn a seat at the Tournament of Champions for the 2023 WSOP in Las Vegas.
WSOP.com is welcoming players from new states
WSOP is welcoming online poker players from Michigan and Pennsylvania for the first time. They will join WSOP online players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Players in Nevada can participate in all 32 events. However, not all states are offering the same number of events.
Michigan and Pennsylvania players can only participate in six WSOP Online tournaments this year. A full list of events can be sorted by state here.
Player pools should be larger for the six events that have players from MI and PA than others given the population in the two states. These events could prove to be more difficult for Nevada players to win.
WSOP Online 2022 events
WSOP Online 2022 buy-ins range from $365 to $10,000. An entry fee of $1,000 is set for WSOP.com’s Online Championship on Sunday, Oct. 16.
There will be a variety of WSOP Online 2022 for budgets big and small. Nevada residents can participate in all events. Players in MI and PA can only participate where noted:

- Sunday, Oct. 2: $777 Lucky 7’s (NV/NJ, PA, MI)
- Tuesday, Oct. 4: $1,500 No Limit Hold’em (NV/NJ only)
- Sunday, Oct. 9: $500 Big 500 No Limit Hold’em (NV/NJ, PA, MI)
- Sunday, Oct. 16 $1,000 WSOP Online 2022 Championship (NV/NJ, PA, MI)
- Tuesday, Oct. 18: $10,000 Super High Roller [1x Re-entry] (NV/NJ Only)
There will also be daily satellites for all WSOP Online 2022 bracelet events. The information will be available on WSOP.com.
Looking ahead to the live tournaments in Las Vegas
Some WSOP Online 2022 poker tournaments are scheduled at the same time as a series of notable live tournaments in Las Vegas this fall. Residents from outside of Nevada may participate in both the live and online events while inside Silver State.
Details on the WSOP events later in 2022 will be announced soon.
WSOP plans to return to the Vegas Strip in 2023. By the time WSOP kicks off next year renovations and rebranding of Bally’s into Horseshoe Las Vegas should be completed.
There should be an announcement on plans for the poker event at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas by the end of the year or early next year.
